27 at 27 Officially Launched at Purpose in Motion + ELF at 5

On the evening of Friday, 14 August 2026, Edwin K. Bamfo’s first book, 27 at 27: Reflections on Purpose, Growth and Fulfilment, was officially launched at Purpose in Motion + ELF at 5, held in the Conference Room of the Impact Building at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Approximately 200 participants gathered for the evening, which brought together two milestones: the release of Edwin’s first book and five years of the Environmental Leadership Forum (ELF), the youth-led organisation he founded in 2021 and leads as Executive Director. Students, guests, volunteers and partners filled the room for a programme centred on purpose, leadership and impact.

A book written from the middle of the journey

27 at 27 brings together 27 lessons drawn from Edwin’s experiences, observations, reading and leadership journey. It explores purpose, personal growth, leadership, wisdom, relationships, intentional living and fulfilment.

The book gathers lessons from his twenties, not as the conclusions of someone who has figured everything out, but as reflections from someone committed to paying attention to life, learning deliberately and sharing what might help others navigate their own journeys. Its central message is that purpose is not simply something a person invents, but something to be discovered, developed and lived through intentional action.

Purpose is not a decision. It is a discovery.

Three focus areas

The evening was built around the three ideas that give Purpose in Motion its name and direction:

  • Purpose: discovering who you are, why you exist and what you are called to do.
  • Leadership: developing the capacity, character and influence to fulfil that purpose.
  • Fulfilment: translating purpose into meaningful action, impact and a fulfilled life.

Five years of the Environmental Leadership Forum

The launch shared the stage with ELF at 5, a celebration of the Environmental Leadership Forum’s fifth anniversary. Since 2021, ELF has worked to raise environmental leaders who promote sustainability in their communities, through programmes that include a plastic pollution campaign reaching over 2,000 students, a land reclamation project that planted 3,000 seedlings at the Bosomtwe Forest Reserve, and the planting of over 4,000 seedlings across the Ashanti Region through ELF and related initiatives.

The book and the Forum grow from the same conviction: that people can grow into who they are meant to become, and that their lives can make a meaningful contribution when they discover purpose, develop intentionally and take responsibility for their influence.

Where the book goes next

Since the launch, 27 at 27 has travelled to campus audiences. On 6 October 2026, Edwin shared lessons from the book at the Girls in Biotech Fellowship 2026, and on 18 October 2026 he was guest author for the Book Spotlight at the Nyansapo Dialogue Series V in the Great Hall, KNUST.

Universities and fellowships can now invite Edwin through the 27 @ 27 Campus Book Tour, which brings the book and a conversation about purpose, growth and fulfilment to campuses, with each visit listed as its own event.
